PhD Job Day

PhD Job Day 2019 will take place on February 28th in Mons from 1pm to 6pm. This job fair for young researchers is organized by six partner universities (UNamur, UGent, KUL, UClouvain, UMons, ComUE Lille Nord-France) from the French-Walloon-Flanders transboundary region in the framework of the TRANSUNIV project funded by the European Development Fund.

 

"PhD Job Day" in a few words :

• More than 30 companies and public organizations and more than 200 PhD researchers from 6 universities of the French-Walloon-Flanders Region are expected. The 6 partner universities represent a pool of more than 10,000 PhD researchers from all disciplines.
• Workshops on careers in and outside academia and CV screening sessions are scheduled.
• This event is an opportunity to meet highly qualified job candidates. Indeed, in addition to the hard skills specific to their disciplines, PhD researchers acquire a number of soft skills during their doctoral research including innovation, creativity, adaptability, rigour, project management, team work and analytical skills, as well as an international network.
• About 60% of Phds are employed outside of academia. "PhD Job Day" is an opportunity for companies and public organizations to meet these highly qualified job candidates.
