Science and Technology Indicators

Fabrice Martin

The Observatory of Science and Technology has released the 2006 edition of its science and technology indicators.

This 'bible' of figures is published every two years by OST, the mission of which is to design and produce quantitative indicators about R&D in order to contribute to France's strategic positioning in Europe and in the world, as well as to analysing R&D systems.

The latest report comprises five parts presenting R&D expenditures, scientific and technical skills and scientific outputs (publications, patents) in France, in French regions, in Europe, in major European regions and in the world. It also includes two comparisons: the first one between France, Germany and the United Kingdom; the second one between the European Union, the United States and Japan.
