Göttingen Graduate School of Neuroscience and Molecular Bioscience

The Göttingen Graduate School of Neuroscience and Molecular Bioscience (GGNB) is affiliated with the Max Planck Institute in Göttingen as well as the German Primate Center and the European Neuroscience Institute (ENI) Göttingen. The school thus covers the full array of neuroscience disciplines, from molecular biology to integrative physiology.

The GGNB grants qualifying doctoral students individual stipends of 1,300 € per month. Other types of financial aid are also available. The amounts varies between 1,000 and 1,200 € per month.

The school has two application deadlines per year – January 15 and June 15 – to accommodate its international applicants.

NB: the international neuroscience program at the GGNB includes a mandatory Master’s year and has only one application deadline: January 15. This doctoral program was awarded a prize by the German Foreign Affairs Ministry in 2004, for the quality of the support services it offers for foreign students.
