Ciera is organizing an introductory seminar on doctoral research
Laurent Cousin
The aim of this seminar will be to combine practical guidance and training in doctoral research using a Franco-German approach.
First year PhD students and second year masters students wishing to pursue a PhD are in great need of guidance, especially of a practical nature, for their doctoral research.
To help them, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Germany(Ciera) is organizing an introductory seminar to doctoral research to be held from January 29 to 31, 2010 at the Institut National de la Jeunesse et de l’Education Populaire (INJEP) in Marly-le-Roi, in the western Paris suburbs.
What are the scientific and professional goals of your doctoral thesis, how to find funding, how to organize a research study period abroad or promote your skills in the academic and corporate worlds in both countries? Specialist speakers will shed light on these various topics and many others, in both languages and using an interdisciplinary, Franco-German approach. The seminar's goal is to link practical guidance and training in doctoral research.
Please note that Fabian Heuel from the Franco-German branch of ABG will give a talk on the French and German job markets.
