The Postdoc Initiative programme helps French postdoctoral researchers abroad to come back home. Closing date: 16 April 2007.
Operated by the deputy ministry in charge of higher education and research, the Postdoc Initiative programme aims at encouraging and helping the best French postdoctoral researchers abroad to come back to France and enter the national system of research and innovation.
On the basis of quality scientific records and return objectives, the programme makes a grant ranging from € 3,000 to 5,000 to successful candidates, so they can come and visit possible French host laboratories.
The programme is open to postdocs of any discipline, provided that they still are in postdoc during the second semester of 2007 and that they fail recruitment competitions in 2007. All countries are eligible, but priority is given to the USA regarding the large number of French postdocs there. The programme is also open, subject to conditions, to foreign postdocs willing to move to France. The deadline for application is 16 April 2007.
