The CSIC has just inaugurated the largest research center in Humanities & Social Sciences in Spain which should be one of the most important in Europe.
With an area of 60.000 square meters and hosting more than 700 people - researchers and other staff - the new Center for Humanities has an investment of 30 million euros from the
CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas), the most significant public research organization in Spain.
In addition to its relevant and open access Library, the center includes seven research institutes: History ; Languages, Cultures of the Mediterranean and the Near East ; Anthropology and Literature ; Philosophy ; Economics, Geography and Demography ; Documentary Studies on Science and Technology ; Public Policies & Property.
The objective of the center is thus to concentrate in one and same place, researchers in Humanities and Social Sciences in order to conduct interdisciplinary projects which are internationally competitive.
