The Defense Ministry has entrusted the ANRT with setting up specific Cifre-Defense agreements to develop public-private research partnerships on topics of interest for defense and to make PhD students employable.
The system brings together a necessarily French company that recruits a Master’s level student on a fixed-term or long-term contract, a research laboratory that supervises the student, the ANRT and the DGA (Direction Générale pour l'Armement) which "states its scientific and expertise priorities, selects application files and ensures the scientific monitoring of the PhD students.”
Starting salary cannot be lower than an annual gross of 23,484 € and the candidate must be at least 28 years of age.
The list of themes for 2009 in the hard sciences and human and social sciences can be consulted on
the ANRT website.
The call for candidates for Cifre-Defense funding of doctoral studies ends on September 30, 2009.
