It is therefore essential that they take a step back and learn to identify their skills and then communicate them effectively.<br\/>DocPro is an online tool enabling PhD candidates and holders to build a skills profile. It helps them identify and name the skills they have acquired through their research experience, in language that is relevant to the socio-economic sector. DocPro guides them in assessing their skills and illustrating them through describing a first-hand experience.<br\/>    <br\/>This workshop provides hands-on familiarisation with the tool (mydocpro.org) for creating a skills profile. <br\/>Participants will also learn how to describe real-life situations that demonstrate their competences.<br\/> <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Programme<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Methods and concepts<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Presentation of the DocPro tool and its features<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A method for identifying doctoral skills and translating them into professional language<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Storytelling techniques for showcasing your achievements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practical exercise<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individual identification of achievements and successes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individual work on writing a story of an achievement, with collective feedback in small groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refining these stories for effective communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning outcomes<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify the transferable and technical skills gained through research experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Master the DocPro tool (mydocpro.org) in order to create a skills profile suited to the job market<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate your strengths effectively to recruiters and employers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pedagogical approach<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interactive workshop combining:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Information, methods and concepts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical exercises and role-play<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personalised feedback and sharing of experience between participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assessment &amp; follow-up<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Formative assessment during the practical exercises (trainer and peer feedback), or a skills quiz<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-session satisfaction survey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the recruitment process, PhD candidates and holders are called upon to showcase their research experience and skills.
