The “Ambassador” Programme 2026<\/h2>\n

Each year, the French Ministry of Armed Forces awards 2 postdoctoral fellowships \u05d1\u05de\u05e1\u05d2\u05e8\u05ea its \u201cAmbassador\u201d programme.<\/p>\n

The \u201cAmbassador\u201d programme aims to fund a 12-month stay abroad<\/b> for a postdoctoral researcher working on a research project focused on security and defence issues, regardless of the academic discipline within humanities and social sciences<\/u><\/b> (geography, economics, political science, law, etc.).<\/p>\n

The \u201cAmbassador\u201d programme is scientifically supervised by the Institute for Strategic Research of the Military School (IRSEM)<\/a>, under the authority of the Directorate General for International Relations and Strategy (DGRIS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This scheme is part of the Higher Education Pact<\/a> and aims to contribute to strengthening the pool of academic research in the fields of defence and security.<\/p>\n

Applicants must be French nationals or citizens of a European Union Member State who have successfully defended their PhD (with or without co-supervision, in France or abroad) within the five years preceding the application.<\/div>\n

Applications must be submitted before April 20, 2026 at the latest<\/u><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important:<\/p>\n

– You must ensure the feasibility of your departure with your French host laboratory and your host research institution abroad before submitting your application to the \u201cAmbassador\u201d programme<\/u>.<\/b><\/p>\n

– You must also ensure before applying to this programme<\/u> that your university meets the conditions required to sign the funding agreement.<\/b><\/div>\n

\n“International Relations and Strategy 2026”<\/h2>\n

The doctoral programme aims to promote innovative approaches<\/strong>, both in terms of research topics, methodologies, and interdisciplinary dimensions. These grants support early-stage researchers undertaking a PhD on security and defence issues, regardless of the academic discipline in humanities and social sciences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This programme can fund up to ten grants per year, for a duration of three years<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Important<\/u>: the application campaign is open<\/strong> from March 2 to April 20, 2026<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n

An application is considered valid only once the applicant has received a confirmation email.<\/em><\/p>\n
