Identified as one of 15 cities to target for changing everything, Sydney despite being an expensive destination has some interesting advantages for those who would be interested in an Australian mobility.
With 4.6 million inhabitants, 30,000 French residents, a growth of more than 2.5% in 2013 and an unemployment rate of 6%, Sydney, the financial capital of Australia, is an attractive city for many potential expatriates.
To create a business, formalities are simplified and you can get a visa (very hard to obtain in the country) for one year.
If you are looking for a job and have a qualification in the areas of information and communication technologies, specialized medical care and counseling, procedures for entering the country can be accelerated. Also, the recruitment by companies is mainly done through specialist firms. Their list is available on the SEEK website.
If you are under 31 years old, you can opt for a work and holiday visa which allows you to "quietly" search a job on the spot for a year.You will find useful information on the different types of visas on the website of the Australian Department of Immigration and Auvisa.org.
Also, although wages in Sydney are on average 15% higher than in Paris, taxation is not favorable and life is quite expensive (rent, school fees, etc.).
