The business and university cooperation in Italy
Clarisse Faria-Fortecoëf
A report of the French Embassy in Italy published on July 1st 2009. Authors: Forato Grégrory, Ziller TiffanyTo achieve the objectives set at the Lisbon European Council, the Italian government fosters collaboration between industry and public research worlds.
In anticipation of the forthcoming publication of the European Commission, collaborative initiatives between companies and universities have been identified in a study of January 2009 by the Confindustria, the main organization representing Italian companies (135.320 members).
Among this report conclusions, we can see that the collaborations growth is mainly due to the training projects, which represent 43% of the total.
Furthermore, except the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) in Trieste, none of the Italian universities are included in the list of the 200 institutions listed according to their performance at the international scale.
