Clarisse Faria-Fortecoëf

A programme to help outstanding young scientists make the leap from post-doctoral researcher to lecturer.

Founded in 1907, the Imperial College London is a Science-based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research (fifth of the best universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2007), which hosts over 12,000 (2007 datas) full-time students from 123 countries.

If you are a young researcher looking for an opportunity to focus on research and establish your scientific independence, then the new “Junior Research Fellowships” scheme of the Imperial College London give you three years free from teaching and administration plus a competitive salary (£29,600 to £35,000 approximately €37,000 to €45,000 per year) and laboratory support costs (£10,000 approximately €12,500 per year).

Applicants should normally have between 2 and 4 years post-doctoral experience and should identify a College sponsor who will act as their mentor and help them develop their research.

If you are interested by this programme, you will find in the section “Information for applicants” all details you need (eligibility criteria, application process, how to find a sponsor…) and the application form that you can download.
Closing date for applications: 30 November 2008.
