Franklin - Lavoisier Prize

Every two years, the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia and the Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie in Paris awards the Franklin-Lavoisier Prize. The deadline for filing applications is August 31, 2008.Carrying an initial award of 15,000 euros, the Franco-American Franklin-Lavoisier Prize rewards a person, a group of persons or an organization for their contribution, through their action or publications, to:
- the preservation and highlighting of the scientific and industrial heritage, in France, the USA, or worldwide in the field of chemistry and its applications;
- a better knowledge of chemical and molecular sciences and industries;
- the fostering of closer Franco-American ties and the promotion of prominent achievements in the fields of chemical sciences and industries.
An international jury will award the prize during a ceremony in Paris on January 28, 2009. Future award ceremonies will take place alternately in Philadelphia and Paris.
