Laurent Cousin

The CNES will take care of travel expenses, registration fees and housing. Application deadline: March 31, 2009

The CNES has issued a call for applications among doctoral students and those in their final year of engineering school to take part in the summer school session on exoplanets that will be held from July 21 to 30, 2009 in Alpbach in the Austrian Tyrol.

This event, organized by the Austrian Space Agency, co-sponsored by the European Space Agency, brings together students of various nationalities with scientific expertise (theory, data processing) or technical expertise (instruments on land and in orbit, mission engineering, satellite design...).

Lectures by renown specialists will take stock of current knowledge and trends for the future. Student teams guided by experienced tutors will design four space missions based on the summer school theme.

The CNES will take care of travel expenses, registration fees and housing. Given the international context of the event, a command of English is essential.

Application deadline is March 31, 2009. An email including a CV, cover letter and recommendation from a professor or department head should be sent to D. Moura (denis.moura@asi.it) and M.Lozach (myriana.lozach@cnes.fr), along with your online registration on the summer school website: http://www.summerschoolalpbach.at/index.php?file=insert.php).
