Spain won 12% of grants to support researchers mobility.On 19 May 2008 during an information day at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), the General Director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, Montserrat Torné, announced the good results of Spain in the area of individual mobility grants in the context of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
For example, among the 300 projects submitted under the ERC (European Research Council) call for projects, 24 are Spanish. Projects presented by young researchers will receive financing for a period from 3 to 5 years. This budget could reach 2 million of euros. They concern the Physical, Engineering, Life, Earth Sciences and Universe ; Biology ; Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Catalonia got 13 of the 24 Spanish fellowships.
