French Chairs program in Rio de Janeiro State

The General Consulate of France in Rio de Janeiro and the State University of Rio de Janeiro have launched the first call for appli-cations for a chair in Rio de Janeiro for professors and researchers from French Research and Higher Education institutions. Deadline for application: November 15, 2013.
Following the signature on 11 September, 2013 of a cooperation agreement between the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and the French Embassy in Brazil, a "French Chairs at the UERJ" programme has been created.
This program allows to host professors and researchers of French Higher Education and Research institutions for a period greater than 60 days and less than one year.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly grant from the partner university (an amount corresponding to the salary of a visiting professor in the host university). The round-trip ticket will be supported by the French Embassy.
The submitted projects can be written in French, Portuguese or in English.
Priority areas are: Humanities and Social Sciences, Marine Sciences, Geosciences, Biology, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
