Topic description
HINA project proposes to consider the hybrid integration of alkaline niobate-tantalate thin films (materials with the highest known experimentally measured electro-optic, nonlinear, piezoelectric, elasto-optic coefficients) in photonic and acoustic devices for advanced semiconductor photonics platforms. HINA links world-leading research groups at Academia and Industry to give a combined, integrated approach of synthesis/fabrication, characterization, modeling/theory linked to concepts for materials integration in devices and systems.
What will you do
- Follow lectures and pass the exams within the doctoral program organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the Charles University in Prague
- Work on your own scientific subjects aiming to have material for your PhD theses
- Learn various work skills outlined in your own personal development plan
- Participate in HINA training schools, workshops and secondments within EU countries involved in HINA project
- Characterize ferroelectric oxide films by several techniques including Raman scattering, PFM and dielectric measurements
- Perform phenomenological or computational analysis of selected observations
- Participate in teaching and outreach activities, publish your results in peer-reviewed journals.
