French-Swedish prize for scientific excellence

A prize designed to reward the best young researchers in the fields of health and environment.The Swedish-French Association for Research (AFSR) and the French embassy in Sweden, under the high patronage of the Collège de France, is holding a competition for young researchers, PhD students and post-doctoral students living in Sweden.
The objective of this prize for scientific excellence is to encourage and promote research and scientific vocations among young researchers in Sweden and strengthen the ties between the Swedish and French scientific communities.
For its second edition, two themes have been selected: "biodiversity and human health" and "sustainable development, water and innovation".
First prize in each category is 30,000 SEK (about 3,000 euros) and a grant for a one-month research internship; second prize is 15,000 SEK (1,500 euros) and third prize 5,000 SEK (500 euros).
Furthermore, this prize has received the support of L’Oréal Sverige AB and Veolia Vatten AB.
The application deadline is August 15, 2010. The prize award ceremony will be held on November 18.
