Le projet ALGNORDEST vise à étudier les ouvriers algériens établis dans le quart nord-est de la France de 1919, au lendemain de la Grande Guerre, à 1962, date de l'indépendance de l'Algérie. Il s'agit de retracer les pratiques socio-professionnelles de ces ouvriers algériens dont l'identité était complexe. Cette recherche propose une lecture politique, sociale et culturelle de ce groupe, témoin des mutations d'une France bousculée par des guerres mondiales et coloniales.

The ALGNORDEST project aims to study Algerian workers who lived in the north-eastern quarter of France from 1919, just after the Great War, to 1962, the date of Algeria's independence. The research project traces the socio-professional practices of these Algerian workers, whose identity was complex. It proposes a political, social and cultural reading of this group, a witness to the mutations of a France shaken by world and colonial wars.
