Topic description

The LISPEN laboratory (Physical and Digital Systems Engineering Laboratory) has focused part of its research for several years on the development of a dynamic, “plug and play” interoperability approach between systems. The most recent works are given in the bibliography at the end of the document and is available in open access (https://github.com/GIS-S-mart/Benchmark-8_MBSE_Model_transformation_inference). A “plug and play” approach automatically connects two or more systems, while minimizing human intervention.
Following the principles dictated by model-driven engineering and recent machine learning approaches, the main idea of this doctoral thesis is to develop a connector capable of:
• Interfacing systems with each other through their conceptual representations (models), regardless of the modeling language used (structural interoperability).
• Interconnecting the concepts of the different models via a transformation model which specifies the conversion rules which make it possible to translate the structure and semantics of a model according to the structural and semantic representation of another system ( semantic interoperability). There may be interest in the automatic implementation of a bidirectional transformation model.
• Propagating changes and model evolutions through incremental transformation models capable of synchronizing modifications both horizontally (between different semantic domains) and vertically (between different levels of abstraction).
The doctoral student will have to draw on recent advances in the field of deep learning, particularly in the related fields of automatic translation of natural language (neural translation machines) and representation learning of structured data in the form of graphs.
