Description

Urban transportation systems face potential disruptions from various sources, including natural hazards, intentional attacks, and accidents. Resilience, defined as the ability to function during disruptive states and recover rapidly, is crucial for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of these systems. This research focuses on exploring cooperative resilience strategies for mobility within urban systems.

The team's research has led to the development of two different systems. On the one hand, a platform called DESCARTES for evaluating the performance of a transport network in the face of disturbances and assessing its resilience capabilities [1]. On the other hand, the development of a cooperative strategy called “Resilience as a Service” (RaaS) [2]. The challenge was to implement these strategies in order to foster cooperation for resilient mobility without compromising the efficiency and profitability of the different modes of transport. The evaluation was carried out using the MATSIM multi-agent simulation model.

This internship aims to investigate the RaaS system with the most relevant criteria from the DESCARTES platform.

The candidate must have a good knowledge of operations research (optimization, graph theory) and programming skills (JAVA is a plus ).
