Call for applications: European Research Management Training (Brussels, April 29th and 30th)

The Franco-German branch office ABG-FGU gives up to 5 PhD students or postdocs from French and German universities the opportunity to take part in a ReMaT-Workshop, jointly organized by Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft and TuTech Innovation GmbH.

ReMaT is an intensive, interactive workshop, providing an introduction to a number of key topics relating to research management including project management, grant acquisition, and science and technology related entrepreneurship.

ReMaT is especially tailored to meet the needs of early-stage researchers especially from the 2nd year of PhD studies onwards, but is also suitable for others involved in research, or in directing research. ReMaT delivers hands-on practical training in an intensive, yet effective workshop form over two days. There is a strong emphasis on European networking in the way the workshop is delivered: we encourage participation from many different countries and disciplines.

Module 1 – Contexts of modern research and careers in bioscience

How can I perform successfully in different research environments and enhance my employability?

Module 2 – Managing interdisciplinary research projects

What does it mean to work on collaborative research projects with diverse organisations and goals?

Module 3 – Invention, innovation and the law

How can I exploit the results of my research?

Module 4 – Acquiring research grants in a European context

How and where can I apply for research funding in Europe?

Module 5 – Realising potential – exploiting research and technology

What is technology transfer and how can I use it to commercialize my research?

The whole workshop is held in English.
