Call for proposals at the Franco-German University 2021

This program takes the form of a call for white papers and two calls for targeted projects, one devoted to climate change and sustainable development and the other to artificial intelligence and its challenges in Europe.

The Franco-German University's call for proposals is addressed to French and German higher education institutions and research organizations and is open to all disciplines. The involvement of a third country is also possible.

The duration of the event can range from a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 4 weeks. Projects may provide for the organization of a single event or a series of structured events. In the case of a series of events, the events should generally follow one another at a regular pace over a maximum period of 24 months.

  • Call for proposals for the funding of scientific events for young researchers (Research Workshops, Summer Schools)

To promote networking among researchers and Franco-German scientific dialogue, the Franco-German University (FGU) supports the organization of Franco-German events for young researchers (PhD candidates and/or post-docs). The events should take place in France and Germany; exceptionally, they may be in a third country if it is justified with a specific reason.

  • Call for proposals for the funding of scientific events dedicated to artificial intelligence and its stakes in Europe

Artificial intelligence (AI) will transform our economy and our daily life in the coming years. The development of a responsible AI is essential.  The present call for proposals for the funding of scientific events for young researchers aims to intensify the reflection on artificial intelligence in a Franco-German perspective and a European dimension.

  • Call for proposals for the funding of scientific events dedicated to climate change and sustainable development

The melting of glaciers, climate change, marine pollution, soil degradation and biodiversity erosion, but also "Fridays for Future", sustainable management and plastic waste reduction are all topics that have dominated the news in recent months. In this context, it is important not only to consider climate change and sustainable development from a scientific perspective, but also to consider their societal and educational dimensions. The present call aims to intensify the reflection on this topic from a Franco-German perspective and an interdisciplinary approach.

Participants' travel and accommodation expenses may also be covered.
