Call for applications: French-German Prize for scientific collaboration Forcheur Jean-Marie Lehn 2022

The Department for Science and Technology of the French Embassy in Germany is granting an award for a French-German cooperation between two young scientists in the following fields: chemistry, health, pharmacology. The award is granted under the patronage of Pr Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Prize in Chemistry, together with the French-German University as well as BASF France and Sanofi Germany.

The Department for Science and Technology of the French Embassy in Germany is granting an award for a French-German cooperation between two young scientists in the following fields: chemistry, health, pharmacology. The award is granted under the patronage of Pr Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Prize in Chemistry, together with the French-German University as well as BASF France and Sanofi Germany.

To be eligible to the Prize “Forcheurs Jean-Marie Lehn”

You need to fulfil the criteria below:

  • Have one member of the pair employed by a French institution, the other by a German institution;
  • Be part of a research laboratory in France and in Germany, attached to :

- to a higher education institution

- a research organization

- to a company;

- a support structure (competitiveness cluster, cluster).

  • Be under 45 years old;
  • Be currently collaborating on a joint research project;
  • Conduct research in the fields of chemistry, health and/or pharmacology.

Application process

It is mandatory for applicants to submit jointly their proposal in French, German or English before Wednesday, April 11, 2022 to the following address, in pdf format:

Award

Each part of the French-German tandem will be granted a prize of 10,000 €. The Award ceremony will be hosted in the French Embassy on June 2022 by the Ambassador of France in Germany, Anne-Marie Descôtes, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry Pr. Jean-Marie Lehn, the President of the Franco-German University, and the partners of the Prize Sanofi Deutschland and BASF France. 

The presence of the two awardees at the Ceremony is required (except for “force majeure”).
