CIFRE Forum 2008
Laurent Cousin
The 5th “CIFRE Forum for Student-Company Contacts” will be held on November 3, 2008 at the Palais Brongniart (“Bourse”), in Paris. For the past 25 years, CIFRE agreements have enabled young researchers to complete their thesis while pursuing a research and development program in conjunction with a research team outside the company. This scheme, funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, is run by the National Agency for Technical Research (ANRT).
This forum is an opportunity for students to meet human resource managers and scientific and technical managers in industries that take part in the CIFRE program in the hopes of securing a short-term or fixed-term contract and do their doctoral thesis in a professional context.
ABG will be attending the CIFRE Forum, so if you have questions about doing a doctorate and especially, what to do afterward, don’t hesitate to pay us a visit!
Meanwhile, you can check out thesis proposals on ABG’s website. 2,700 offers were posted in 2007 (including 19% CIFRE agreement offers and other industry co-funded schemes), a 13% increase over 2006. Other CIFRE thesis proposals are available on the ANRT website.
