The Carnot institutes adopt a code of best practices for intellectual property
Laurent Cousin
The Carnot institutes have recently drawn up and adopted a code of best practices for Intellectual Property, Knowledge Transfer and Technology Transfer. With 33 institutes grouping together 12,800 researchers, the Carnot network's mission is to cater for companies' innovation needs, especially technology and knowledge transfer. In order to best meet the needs* and in the interest of performance* the institutes have adopted a charter of best practices for* Intellectual Property and for Knowledge and Technology transfer.
Its main concern is the strategic management of intellectual property and knowledge and technology transfer, and it aims to clarify the terms of a lasting partnership between the Carnot institutes, companies and socio-economic actors.
This commitment is one of the key factors associated with the Carnot label awarded to French research institutes (called “Carnot institutes”) by the French National Research Agency (ANR), which provides funding for them.
