2009 Actuarial Prize

The Actuarial Prize rewards innovative work in risk management. Application deadline: June 30, 2009.The Actuarial Prize, worth 6,000 euros, rewards young PhDs or doctoral candidates from French, Swiss and Belgian schools and universities for studies that have potential risk management applications.
Research written up in French or in English in the framework of a PhD thesis defense can be submitted as long as the topic deals with risk management, whether from the economic, financial or insurance standpoint. The thesis must have been defended between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
Theses should be sent along with the defense report and a document a few pages in length that explains the potential applications of the theories discussed. Bibliographic sources should be indicated.
One copy should be sent by the research director or supervisor to Laure Defauchy Prix Actuariat

This prize is awarded each year by the SCOR reinsurance group. Research submitted for the 2009 contest should be turned in by June 30, 2009 at the latest.
Note that another prize will reward papers written in the framework of an actuarial diploma accredited by the Institut des Actuaires in France, the Association Royale des Actuaires Belges or the Swiss Actuaries Association. They must have been defended between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
