Cifre application procedure now online
Laurent Cousin
It is now possible to apply for a Cifre agreement directly on line. The ANRT has put on line a new tool to apply for a Cifre agreement to simplify management of the procedure and shorten the time it takes to process applications.
To use this tool, first you must register on the following URL: http://cifre.anrt.asso.fr. The user then comes to an interface that enables him/her to fill in the requested information pertaining to the three partners: the company, the laboratory and the PhD candidate-employee. Explanatory messages are given as each field is filled in. Data input can be interrupted and resumed at any time, as many times as necessary. Once the application file is complete, a “send” button sends the information to the ANRT, which then processes the application.
A print version of the application remains available.
CIFRE agreements (industrial agreements on training through research) were set up to participate in the growth of research in French companies. They include a subsidy for companies that hire a PhD student on a long-term or short-term contract with a professional mission delineated by the student’s thesis topic. Their work is supervised by an accredited academic research laboratory, and the PhD student is enrolled at the same time in a doctoral school.
