UPSC symposium for young plant scientists

Bérénice Kimpe | Wojciech Lewandowski

Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC) invites promising young scientists for a postdoc project symposium. The aim of the symposium is to bring together postdoc candidates and UPSC group leaders to identify common research interests to develop a project together. The prospective postdocs and group leaders are expected to submit a postdoc fellowship application.
UPSC will invite the most interesting candidates to attend a two-day symposium at the end of May 2014 in Umeå, Sweden. UPSC will cover all costs associated with the symposium. During your visit you will have the chance to present your PhD work, visit the institute, identify and discuss potential projects with different research groups and also visit Umeå, the cultural capital of Europe 2014.

To be eligible,

  • you should have obtained your PhD within the last 2 years and
  • have published at least one manuscript as first author in a peer-reviewed journal.
  • Identify research topic(s) at UPSC that you would be interested in pursuing, and justify your choice based on your experience and future plans.

Please send a cover letter including a motivation of your research interests, CV and names of 2-3 references to postdoc@upsc.se. Deadline for the symposium applications is April 15th 2014. Deadlines for many fellowship applications are in August.
