Gay-Lussac Humboldt Prize

A Prize awarded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research in association with the Academy of Sciences - Institute of France to German scientists and by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to French scientists. Application deadline: June 30, 2014.
First presented in 1983, the Gay-Lussac Humboldt Prize is awarded each year. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, the 2012 prize was awarded to French and German winners at a ceremony held on April 15, 2013 at the Institute of France.
In the framework of the 2014 Call for applications and since 2011, the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR – Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche), reward preferably, two German researchers - who are proposed by the French partners with whom they have or are planning collaborations - with different profiles : one an experienced researcher and one a junior researcher. The award is presented with the cooperation of the Academy of Sciences - Institute of France.
From its side, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation presents the award to French researchers who want to conduct a long-term research project in cooperation with their specialist colleagues in Germany. This support is part of the programme for the Humboldt Research Award, which Foundation presents to leading foreign researchers in all disciplines.
The Gay-Lussac Humboldt Prize is valued at 60,000 EUR for each winner.
All scientific disciplines are covered.
