A career dedicated to innovation and the promotion of research

Chantal VERNIS graduated in Physics from the École Centrale de Marseille, and began her career with the EADS group (which later became Airbus Group), where she successively held various positions, notably in the field of information and communication systems. She soon turned her attention to interactions between research and the socio-economic world, a theme that has guided her entire career.

In 2000, she joined the CNRS innovation department, where she was responsible for setting up research-based companies and technology transfer to SMEs. Her expertise in research commercialization then led her to SATT Lutech in 2012, where she was appointed President in 2018.

Returning to CNRS in 2019 as Director of Operations in the Directorate General for Innovation, she leads and coordinates the national network dedicated to partnerships between research and industry. Her commitment to harnessing the synergies between scientific and industrial expertise led her to join the IRD (Institut de recherche pour le développement) in 2022, where she heads the department for the mobilisation of research for development.

An ambitious vision for the ABG

In taking charge of ABG, Chantal Vernis brings a strategic vision resolutely focused on bringing together PhDs and the socio-economic world. Her career path, at the interface between research, innovation and business, is perfectly in line with the ABG's mission: supporting the professional development of PhDs, enhancing their skills and strengthening the links between training through research and the needs of the job market.

The entire ABG team welcomes her and looks forward to continuing, under her leadership, to develop the association in the service of researchers and their careers.
