Call for projects Tournesol 2024: Franco-Belgian program for international mobility
Tournesol 2024’s objective is to develop scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between research laboratories and public institutions in the Wallonia-Brussels region and France. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2023.
Tournesol is the Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC) set up by Wallonie-Bruxelles International, in partnership with the F.R.S.-F.N.R.S, the Scientific Research Fund of Flanders (Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen- FWO), and for France, by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in liaison with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
PRESENTATION OF THE PROGRAM
Tournesol 2024 develops scientific and technological cooperation between higher education and research establishments and public institutions in the Wallonia-Brussels region, the Flemish Community of Belgium and France, by encouraging new cooperation and the participation of young researchers and PhD candidates.
The call for applications is open to tenured researchers in research laboratories attached to higher education institutions or research organizations.
The projects take place over two years. Each dossier will be submitted to an expert in science. Below are their assessment criteria, in addition to co-deposit:
- the scientific quality of the project (originality of the themes, clarity of objectives, methodology),
- the active participation of young researchers, in particular PhD candidates or post-docs;
- the interest in cooperation (complementarity of teams, transfer of skills, training through research),
- the project's valorization prospects: networked projects with a European opening will be considered as a priority.
The call for proposals is open to all scientific fields, including the humanities and social sciences.
Particular attention will be paid to projects related to the Horizon Europe framework programs for research and innovation.
Mission and funding
- The means granted are only for transportation and living expenses of researchers between the two countries for the researchers involved in the program.
- The maximum amount allocated to each project is 2,000 euros in the first and second year for the Flemish Community, and 1,300 euros in the first and second year for the French community.
