Dumont d'Urville: Franco-New Zealand program to support researchers' mobility

The Partenariat Hubert Curien (PHC) - Dumont d'Urville 2023 - aims to develop scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between French and New Zealand laboratories, by encouraging the participation of young researchers (PhD candidates and post-doctoral fellows). The deadline for applications is July 21, 2022.

Dumont d'Urville  is the Partenariat Hubert Curien (PHC) set up in France by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI), and in New Zealand by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and administered by the Royal Society Te Apārangi.

Terms and conditions

  • The call for applications is open to full researchers from research laboratories attached to higher education organizations and research institutions;
  • The participation of young researchers and PhD candidates is strongly encouraged.
  • Companies can participate in the project, as long as they are associated with an academic partner;
  • The evaluators will encourage new partnerships. An applicant who has previously received Dumont d'Urville funding may propose a new research project with a new partner in the other country;
  • Only applications co-submitted by the research partners in their respective countries are accepted;
  • All scientific fields are concerned.

Mission and funding

  • Funding is granted on an annual basis, for one or two years;
  • Important : The Dumont d'Urville program now offers French funding of 10 000 EUR/year/project to support the mobility of researchers from the French group to New Zealand.

The final deadline for application is July 21, 2022.
