NAPATA : the French-Sudanese program to support researchers' mobility

The Partenariat Hubert Curien (PHC) - NAPATA 2023 - aims to develop scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between research institutions from the Sudan and France. Active participation and mobility of young researchers, especially PhdD candidates or postgraduate, is one of the very first criteria of selection. The deadline for applications is February 6, 2023.

Napata is the Partenariat Hubert Curien (PHC) set up in Sudan by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHE), and in France, by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).  

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The call for applications is open to research laboratories attached to higher education organizations and research institutions;
  • Companies can participate in the project, as long as they are associated with an academic partner;
  • All scientific fields are concerned, however, priority will be given to projects in the following disciplines:
  1. Applied sciences: energy and renewable energy, environment and climate change, engineering sciences;
  2. Human health, veterinary and agronomic sciences, biology and biotechnology;
  3. Archaeology;
  4. Humanities and social sciences;
  5. Didactics of the French language.
  • Projects that have already been funded under this program are not eligible for reapplication immediately after completion.
  • Among the selection criteria: the integration of young researchers (PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows) in the project. 
  • Only joint applications submitted by French researchers are accepted.

Mission and funding

  • The duration of projects is one year;
  • Funding support from France covers stay (€125/day) and travels allowances(reimbursement on actual expenses up to a limit of €1 200 per France-Sudan round-trip) of involved researchers.
The final deadline for application is February 6, 2023.
