The PhDTalent Career Fair 2024

The 11th edition of the largest forum dedicated to the recruitment of PhDs took place on 26 November 2024 at the CENTQUATRE in Paris.

It has become a not-to-be-missed event, attracting more than 5,000 PhDs and PhD candidates (from all disciplines) and over 150 companies of all sizes.

Organised in partnership with all the institutions from the Île-de-France, it is a space for exchange, where the barriers between the academic and private sector are broken down by wide range of activities:des stands d'entreprises (allant de la startup au grand groupe en passant par la PME) ;

• theme-based workshops;
• a round-table discussion on recruiting PhDs in the private sector;
• the speed meetings ;
• round tables and lectures.

THE ABG AT THE PHDTALENT CAREER FAIR 2024

The ABG at the PhDTalent Career Fair 2024 did : 

The conference ‘The professional project: a union between the heart, reason and action’ led by Sandra GIRON, head of the ABG's Innovative Training and Coaching Division.

In the course of their careers, PhD graduates, like most managers, will have to make numerous choices in order to progress. The career plan is invaluable in guiding these choices, acting strategically and seizing opportunities while ensuring a coherent and fulfilling career path.

Taking part in this conference enabled Master's students, doctoral candidates and PhDs to be guided in the construction of their project and to discover the key steps in efficient personal reflection.

Our team was able to offer a personalised welcome and advice, as well as job offers, thesis subjects (cifre and others) and internships (M2, engineers) from our job board:

• Round-table discussion: ‘Recruitment under the magnifying glass: testimonials from doctors and recruiters’ perspectives’ moderated by Gaël FORTIN, doctor in cancerology, science populariser, content creator and presenter.

Through the testimonies of two doctors and two recruiters from the private sector, we invite you to explore the different facets of the recruitment process. Whether it's the meeting between the doctor and the company, the post or the individuals, each will be a reason to:

    - sharing inspiring stories, experiences and best practice,

   - discussions on key issues such as the expectations of the private sector and its recruiters, the details of the recruitment process, and how to make the most of doctoral skills,

    - the emphasis on the human side of hiring process and the crucial role of soft skills and personal attributes.
