PhD Program "NUMERICS" by CEA : 2019 call for application open
3 CEA laboratories located in France are seeking bright, highly motivated PhD candidates willing to contribute to the progress of these research with an important contribution of numerical simulation, scientific computing and artificial intelligence.

Selected projects open for application
CEA laboratories located in 3 main research campuses in France Saclay (Parisian Region), Grenoble (Alpes), Cadarache (Marseille Region) conduct scientific research in high energy physics, material sciences, energy, micro- and nanotechnologies and health technologies including imaging.
They are seeking bright, highly motivated PhD candidates willing to contribute to the progress of these research with an important contribution of numerical simulation, scientific computing and artificial intelligence.
Selected projects open for application
The list of PhD projects proposed by CEA and open for the 2019 session is published on the present website. The projects cover many different scientific fields, from basic to applied sciences, but always with an important component of simulation, scientific computing, and/or computer sciences, including big data and artificial intelligence.
For further information about a particular PhD project, candidates may contact the PhD supervisor of the project using the details indicated on the description page of the specific PhD subject.

Eligibility conditions
Before applying to the NUMERICS program, all applicants should verify that they meet the following criteria:
- to hold or to be enrolled in a Master degree program before starting the PhD thesis;
- not have resided or carried out their main activity in France more than 12 months over the three years prior to the call deadline (mobility condition).
How to apply
To apply candidates must fill the Application Form along with required documents and send them to numerics@cea.fr
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to personal interviews from which 21 candidates will be selected and granted 3-year work contracts covering the duration of the PhD project. Additional funding will be available from the host laboratories for conferences and specific PhD professional training will be organized during the 3-year CEA contract.
