Together with its German and Luxembourg partners, ABG is organising the first edition of the cross-border seminar for doctoral students “PhD, what comes next?”. This seminar is aimed at all doctoral candidates from France, Germany and Luxembourg, as well as those who wish to come and work in one of the three countries after their doctorate. On your marks? About the program
Are you currently doing a PhD in France, Germany or Luxembourg or are you co-supervising with one of these three countries? You have just obtained your PhD or are an international PhD student and are looking for a job in one of these three countries after your PhD?
Be part of the first “PhD, what comes next?”, the cross-border career workshop for PhD candidates that is organized from 18 to 20 November by ABG, the French-German University, the Luxemburg National Research Funds (FNR), the Luxemburg Institute of Health (LIH), the Luxemburg Institute for Socio-Economic Research (LISER), the Luxemburg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and the University of Luxemburg.
The perfect opportunity to take (finally) some time to think about your professional identity, your wishes, to understand the recruitment process and recruiters’ expectations in different countries, to discover new career path and develop your network by meeting professionals…

Eligibility
The seminar is open to:
- doctoral candidates from all fields and all nationalities, doing their doctorate in France or Germany (PhD candidates doing a joint PhD with one of the three countries or doing an industrial PhD are eligible)
- unemployed doctorate holders who graduated for less than 6 months at the time of the workshop
- international doctorate holders doing their PhD outside France, Germany or Luxembourg and who are interested in working in one of the three countries after their PhD
The participants must have a good English level (at least B2)
Priority is given to advanced doctoral candidates (i.e. from late 2nd year of their PhD onwards).
Practical information
- participation fees : 50 €
- language : English
- costs for room and board are covered by the organisators. Transport costs are at the expense of participants.
- participants living outside Luxembourg will be accommodated in double room in the Youth Hostel of Eschsur-Alzette, where the seminar takes place
