Description du sujet
We are opening one position for highly motivated researchers with a strong interest in epitranscriptomic regulation and translational immunity & oncology. Our lab uncovered the importance of wobble tRNA modifications in the reprogramming of mRNA translation that supports tumor development and phenotype switching in cancer. Our work has strongly contributed to highlighting the reprogramming of mRNA translation as a central mechanism driving the adaptation of tumor cells during cancer progression and response to therapy. Our lab focuses on the importance of tRNA modifications and specific mRNA translation reprogramming as a driver of cancer heterogeneity and interaction with tumor immune microenvironment..
GIGA gathers more than 500 scientists in all fields of biomedical research and offers access to top- notch technological platforms (www.giga.uliege.be/platforms). Our lab is composed of experienced researchers (PhD-post-doc-tech) who routinely master advanced cellular and molecular biology techniques such as flow cytometry, (single-cell)RNA-seq, Ribo-seq, Polysome Profiling- sequencing, tRNA sequencing, and mass spectrometry. The candidates will benefit from a stimulating and highly competitive scientific environment with a strong international network and funded by prestigious grants.
A four years PhD position (yearly reconduction) is available.
Requirements:
- Fluency in spoken and written scientific English
- Demonstrated expertise in lab experiments, preferably in cellular immunology and in vivo.
- A plus if the candidate has the European certificate for animal experiments
