Établissement recruteur

The IPS2 Institute is located on the campus of the University of Paris-Saclay. The institute provides a welcoming and international environment for multidisciplinary research on plant development, offering access to state-of-the-art technical facilities. The team led by Abdel Bendahmane is internationally recognized for its expertise in the genetic dissection of agronomically important traits and translational research. In particular, the team focuses on flower and fruit development. The approaches used combine omics analyses, high-precision phenotyping, and genetic analyses, leveraging techniques such as TILLING and genome editing.

Description

We are currently looking for two postdoctoral scholars to join the project NectarGland sponsored by Europe (https://erc.europa.eu/news-events/news/advanced-grants-2022-examples-projects), and sex determination project. The focus of the NectarGland project involves conducting metabolomics and gene cloning of loci altered in attractiveness for bees. The sex determination project focus on the genetic dissction of sex gene and sex chromosomes durring sex determination processes.

-The specific duties of the postdoctoral scholar working in Sex determination project include the following: (1) Positional cloning of mutations leading to sex transition, and (2) omics analysis of the gene network associated with the cloned gene.

-The specific duties of the postdoctoral scholar working in NectarGland project include the following: (1) utilizing GC-MS/MS methods for chemical profiling in collaboration with the IPS2 metabolome platform to conduct untargeted metabolomics of key mutant plants altered in bees attractiveness, and (2)
analyzing the generated data through genetic approaches (TILLING mutants).

Profil

Applicants should have a PhD in plant sciences. The job will require skills in molecular biology, genetics or metabolomics.
