International postdoctoral research grants in Latvia
The Republic of Latvia’s State Education Development Agency (SEDA) launches a new call for applications to fund postdoctoral researchers in all fields. Hosting institutions can be public laboratories or companies of all size. Application deadline is set to 15 July 2019.
In order to support the career development of researchers, SEDA is funding international postdoctoral research grants to perform applied or fundamental research in a research organization (public or private) located in Latvia.
Eligible candidates and hosting organizations
Eligible candidates and hosting organizations
The call is open to all fields. Following profiles are eligible:
- PhD completed no later than 10 years before the application deadline
- International researchers, including researchers from non-EU countries
Researchers can be hosted by public laboratories or any companies (including SMEs) in Latvia.
Which funding?
The maximum grant is 133.806€ for a research stay of 36 months. It covers the researcher’s full time employment salary (2.731€/month) and additional expenses up to 800€/month.
How to apply?
Candidates must have identified first a hosting organization in Latvia before submitting the grant proposal. SEDA provide guidance and assistance on this matter: see contact below.
The proposal must be submitted together by the candidate and the hosting organization via the online system.
The application is made of following documents:
- Research application form
- Timetable for the implementation of the research proposal
- Financing plan
- Budget summary of the research proposal
- Research project proposal
- Researcher’s CV in English
- Report on the financial turnover of the hosting organization
- Postdoctoral researcher’s certification
- Additional documents (if applicable), as explained in the programme rules
